Aargh!
I've got yet another urgent job on my desk and I'm frantically trying to find out how to make a canvas in Painter or Photoshop or anything tileable while you are drawing on it (ie. your brush strokes loop around).

I know it can be done, but for the life of me I can't figureout how to do it.

Can anyone help me out here??

I don't know how to do that. You know that making it tilable is as easy as anything with the offset in PS. You making textures?

Yeah, hand brushed textures. I was hoping to get the brushes themselves to loop around the canvas to avoid retouching it all later (I'm _sure_ I've seen it somewhere)

For now though, I've managed to quickly get the effect I'm after with some minor Photoshop work, but I'd still be interested in how it is actually done for next time.

1) open an image or select a portion of an image. Remember, the edges of the selection meet when an image is tiled.

2) Open a New Document.

3) Click on the triangle in the Patterns section title to open it.

4) Click on the menu icon in the Patterns section and choose Define Pattern.

This sets the recently opened image to seamless. Many of....

taken from the "Web" section of the Painter 6 help files. pages 15 & 16 of the 16th chapter or pages 449-450 of the entire help document set.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Vardelith - that's exactly what I was after!

I remember looking for it in the manual a while ago, must have been searching the wrong sections though.

Many thanks.
