grrr, im after that for some time;i draw the outlines for different textures [3d-textures for objects and characters, interface-like drawings, machinery, 2d,..] sometimes by hand, sometimes using illustrator. when im trying to color them in photoshop they end up being very artificial, because i have problems giving them depth , structur and giving them kind of random features.

i really would like to be able to create these things without just putting photographs of surfaces over the drawing using different blending modes [rather cheap eh? ]...

any help, books, sites, out there that would get me deeper into the right thinking? i realize there is much more behind it than just putting highlights and shadows on your coloured outlines...

thanx
