RTK? (Real-Time Kit?)
I've tried out XSI, and, I must say it's still VERY unsuitable for real-time 3d content. It lacks the very fine detail control you need to create real-time content, especially if it's remotely advanced. No concept of triangle, edges and edge flipping, vertex info control and editing, etc. Developers, especially in the near future will need to have very precise tools to do some of the more advanced and cool stuff in upcoming 3d hardware. |

Frost: Are you talking about version 1.0 or 1.5? |

Jaymo: To tell you honestly, I don't recall. I know Softimage was working with Microsoft towards getting their stuff Direct3D compatible, meaning a huge overwrite of a lot of their stuff... I don't know if that's the 1.5 release or not. I doubt they could have easily changed the way Softimage works to get down and dirty with the data for RT purposes... but I wouldn't know for sure. |

Frost: I ask, because 1.0 didn't bring any polytools with it, making it useless for lopoly work. Those are integrated in 1.5, though. |

well, 2.0 is not far away now. I think much work has gone into the realtime problem.
