Anyone know of any URL's that talk about how to do good 2D sprite art/animation for things like GBA etc? I've got a coder mate who's putting something together and needs some pointers on creating the sprites.

Hi,
Check out www.gamedev.net. This is a great resource for game developers with many tutorials, also especially for 2D Tile based games. Im not sure if it has much information about how to do the artwork, but there are also many links and forums that could be helpful for you.

This is a site I came across recently by accidentally, but it has a lot of sprite building info that could be useful for you. |

Thanks All
The pixelartist site rocks... I passed on the info to my coder mate but actually got really enthused about doing some pixel art myself. Took me back to doing 2D animation in director about 5 years ago. I used to do all my colouring within the director paint window. If you've used Director you'll realise what i mean when i say "OUCH!"
