Hello all,
I've been ghosting this board for a while now and finally decided to post. Reason, well I have ALOT of questions that hopefully some of you would be so kind to answer...
1. How does one go about contacting a gaming company and landing those wonderful jobs of character design or game design in general?
2. I've seen alot of incredible 3-d art on these boards, my favorites always seem to be created with a program called "maya." Does anyone have any info on this program or know where I could get the info?
Well, I actually have a lot more questions, but these are the most important on my list. Any reply would be GREATLY appreciated. I'd post art, but I'm still trying to create something that I would consider good enough... (I have a lot, but most of it is just pencils or inks, and almost all of it is kind of comic-booky.) Thanks for your time and patience. |

Maya is like the top notch 3d program that are being used by Hollywood artists. Too bad some of the Maya program cost as much as a car.
But i suggest you try 3ds max though, because if you need help, there are tons of tutorials and people on the net to help you. Maya is not that popular among the average people therefore when you need help, theres not alot ppl around to help ya.

He's right, Maya is expensive and not as many people use it. But if your really interested in landing a good job Maya is the future, though 3ds Max is still popular in games.
Here's a link to a board where i go sometimes, a bunch of us just started Maya so we can help each other out.
