It doesn't even have to be signed to be copyrighted. Copyright protection subsists from the time the work is created in fixed form. If you for example have a poem in your head it gets copyrighted the moment you have written it down on paper. You don't even have to put the copyright symbol there.

Hi there, I'm new and am considering putting my artwork on a webpage. I am from Canada and am unsure about copyright laws regarding my art work. Where do I acquire a copyright? Do I have to pay for it??? Also is there a way so that people can't save the images from my webpage? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Im not sure about canada, but here in califorina, all you have to do is sign your work and its copyrighted to you. I'm sure canada has some goverment sites, right? Im sure you can find somthing.
