this old hard drive of mine is more ghetto than yours.
it works, albeit the duct tape/sliced ide connector/hard drive rig needs to be kept cool with a desk fan so that the duct tape glue shit won't melt and ruin the rig..

I'll toss in with the Mac folks:
Mac G3/450 (bondi blue) w/ internal ATAPI Zip and CD
Matching Apple 17" Studio Monitor
Additional external SCSI Zip drive
512 megs of ram
ATI Rage128 Graphics Card
AGFA1236S (SCSI2) scanner/Grappler SCSI Card
5.25" Magneto Optical Drive (usually not plugged in)
9mm DAT Tape drive (2 gig)
External SCSI CDR 4x32x
6x9 Wacom & Logitech Optical Mouse
Epson 777i Inkjet Printer (USB)
and my trusty USB SanDisk compact flash card reader.
Oh, all plugged into a 100baseT 5 port ethernet hub (G4 and Performa on the network as well) and a Lynksys Router for the cable modem.

I use 2 machines.
For most digital and print rezolution work:
Dual 533 G4
12X12 Intuos
1gig RAM
Twin 21in Sony Trinitron Monitors.
For color correction and comic book coloring I usually use my super gamma accurate:
PII 400 Mhz
9X12 Intuos
512MB RAM
One lowly 17" Monitor.
But it has a 20 gig scratch disk running @ 7200rpm which is why I still have not upgraded the proccessor. It seems happy the way it is. It still has the 16 bit sound blaster and 3.5 floppy that were in my 386 DOS/Win3.1 box. (Win 3.1 did not like the 16 bit sound blaster. But my DOS games did.) |
