I have been here for a couple of days.
I like this place, and the artists with their wonderful paintings.
But I'll quit.
I found most of the time I spend here is WASTED.
I spend lots of time seeing other person's painting, comment on different styles, but my own skills didn't improve much since not much critique is given to newbies like me. And I think I can improve a lot if I use the time learning photoshop or fireworks by myself.
Just as tayete said, this forum did become '"New York" of the art forums? '
So I'll quit, and learn all by myself, hope one day I can come back with what worth being critiqued, also hope the newbies here can learn what they want.

Yeah, I have to quit here every so often too. Too much time spent reading and corresponding, not enough doing art. It's nice, though, to drop in every so often and give some contructive comments about pieces. I suppose if my work were worshipped it would be nice to stop in every so often for a round of high praise. But that is not the case for 4400 or so of us. Ah well.

Best of luck to all of us in all our noble endeavors.

Dean

ebrian, you make it sound like the only way to learn is if you get critiqued. Sijun is great for a _whole_ lot more than that. For instance, it can lead to you a lot of great websites and tutorials which I've found to be a far more educational than a few critiques. But, if you feel your time here is wasted it's probably best you move on. Best of luck hoofing it on your own.

I would definately listen to Pat on this one. I haven't been here very long either, but I have had the pleasure of picking up on a few awesome tutorials durring my short time here, and I can definately say that they've helped turn me in the proper direction I need to go.

DON"T give up. An artist is measured by his willingness to persevere through the trials and the tough times laid out before him, because it's the individuals who don't give up that end up becoming the amazing artists. Those who can wade through the difficulties and the frustration. Remember, no great artist ever started out great.

Don't give up. You WILL regret it. Trust me, I know.

man, go get out! If you want to do so. Ok, go. That's life. But don't make posts like: I'll go. Cause the world is so mean to me. What do you want to achieve this? Man, nobody cares if you go. The only reason you post this is because you want to get people whine about about how bad this place is.

I'm so sick of all those whining posts. Go to your mum or stay here. But stop yammering.

Hell, the same things...on and on... every day. Gah! ashfosdhf
