I'm having a problem with the head drawing (without reference) that Loomis, among others, suggests. The problem is as follows: what are the rules for drawing a sphere (the first thing you draw when drawing a head) divided by three planes ie a sphere in eight pieces, in perspective?
I find the sphere to be the hardest thing to draw when drawing a head... (Page 172 in "Figure drawing for all its worth")

Any suggestions or do I plainly suck? =P

hmm, and I thought that I would be the stupid one...=P

Of COURSE I can draw a sphere.

I actually wrote: "what are the rules for drawing a sphere/.../divided by three planes ie a sphere in eight pieces, in perspective?", something you might had noticed if you hadn't been busy being a smart**s =/
The sphere in itself is no problem, the problem is how to draw the three dividing planes (or lines) perspectivally(?) correct.
Since these lines are what determines where to put the features in the face I want to get them perfect.
And with the sphere- and line talk I'm refering to page 172 in "Figure drawing for all its worth".

But then again, as I said, I might be REALLY stupid for not getting the hang of this =)

important things are, that the point where your "coordination line" and the outline of the sphere meet each other doesn't have any edges. no matter from which side you look at it, there's in every case a bezier like curve, that "goes into" the sphere outline.

how the three are placed in relation to each other is a matter of practise. i really dunno, i just draw it that it looks "right"
