I've also heard people say that USB drains the battery really fast.

I have a theory about being able to do my digital artwork anywhere. I want to ask anyone if they can think of pitfalls or better ways to get what I am thinking about.

A laptop, (be it Mac or Windows based), with a large amount of ram.
Photoshop installed.
Wacom tablet,(6x5), attached.

I think this in a backpack would allow to sketch and draw on the compuer at anytime.

Has anyone tried this or think it won't work.

I fly alot for work and would love to be able to paint on the plane instead of just sketch on paper.

thanks

Well I guess it could work but then you have to take into account a few things.
A) The bulk of all the material you would be carrying. Size of laptop and tablet
B) The chances of damaging the material, mainly the tablet.
c) What if you were traveling and wanted to grab a quick sketch of something you saw. Provided this something is a person moving or sitting. You would have to turn the computer on, and let it boot, etc, etc...

But I can't think of anyother way of going thru a straight digital output.

yea, whats-his-name makes a good point. when it comes to quick sketches and junk, the best thing to use is a plain ol $10 sketchbook
