Hey, everybody! I finally got all my E3 pictures online, so I figured it was time to post. First off, you can check out the images here: http://www.kr4d.com/~waylon
There's a gallery specifically for pictures I took while hanging out with the folks from the Sijun forum, though I was more concerned with havin fun than with taking pictures, so that gallery is a bit lacking.
Anyway, less people showed up than I had hoped, but the people I DID meet were cool as hell. Alan (username: Alan) was the first to arrive with his friend Star (I'm pretty sure that's the right spelling.) We ended up hanging out for most of the day, and the evening. We also hung out with PhreakNasty for about half an hour, but he had to run off.
We hung out until the end of the show, checking out some booths that we missed, and going back to the booths that were the coolest. After the hall closed, we met up with Loki outside. After chatting for a few minutes, we decided our best bet was to head back to Santa Monica and get some dinner and beer. So we did just that!
We headed to Loki's favorite watering hole, "The Firehouse", where we also met up with Yaz and one of his friends (whose name I can't remember. Sorry!) After chilling and chatting for a few hours, we went back to Loki's house, and chilled and chatted some more.
All in all, it was a lot of fun, and it was really nice to meet some of the people whose art I've been looking at for months (or years). It was also cool to see some art that hasn't been posted on the forums here - I managed to make off with a copy of Alan's portfolio CD, and of course, it was a lot of fun looking at Loki's recently finished matte paintings in their full resolution. (Hmm. I should have gotten a picture of him in his work area. It's a very high-tech looking place, with with his dual big-ass monitors and stereo equipment up the wazoo.)
Anyway, here's a pic of us at the Firehouse, in case you don't feel like going through the gallery.
From left to right, me, Alan, Loki, Yuki (Loki's girlfriend), Yaz, and his friend John.
[EDIT: Filled in names I didn't catch at the time]

Haha - thanks Waylon!
Just got to say that it was good to meet all of you and that Yuki & I had a great time hanging out with you guys! That's why I love this forum so much, because we're our own 'clan' and whereever people go they can hook up with some sijun guys.
At first I didn't think I'd meet anyone, because I came to the convention center at 6:30 pm after splitting lanes on the clogged 10 freeway and there were 100s of E3ers outside. But Waylon's description of himself worked and Yaz joined us later.
The Firehouse in Venice is one of my favourite watering holes - Digital Domain is right across the street. So the guys also got the opportunity to talk with some of my buddies that work there.
Well - glad you guys had a good time! So did I!
Cheers,
Loki

Heh.. I passed up the opportunity to go, because I figured I would be moving. The guys I work with all went though and had a blast. (of course they rubbed it in) Oh well, maybe next year. I'll be at the San Diego ComicCon though if anyone is out there. |

Hello! Yes, E3 was great fun. As was just hanginig out with the Sijun members that showed up, and the Guild Software posse
I'm actually still in L.A. One of my friends is graduating, and it didn't take much persuasion to get me to stay for the party
I'll try to get my friend to sign up here, but he is a very busy guy, so I make no promises.

Yes e3 kicked much as, even though it wasn't as good as last years showing. If I would have known so many of you were going I would have hunted you down so we could talk. Anyways, I put up all my pictures from e3 as well...

heh I showed up at E3, but didn't have the phone number to meet up... CapnPyro from the board lent me his pass for the last day of the show, so it's not like I had time to plan anything, it was pretty cool |
