Has anyone read Timeline by micheal crichton?
I just started it and thought it was pretty interesting.

Yah it's a cool book. Of course like all books and movies ever made about time travel it has flaws and mistakes that don't make any sense.

I read it a few months ago, and somehow it was a decent book (not good though) despite all it's flaws.

First off Micheal Chrichton rehashed his evil eccentric Billioniare builds something amazing formula from Jurassic Park ( about the same thing happens to this guy as in the book version of Jurassic Park even.) The characters to me seem pretty stereotyped and thin. Also the entire book is really just a movie script, because of a movie deal Michael Crichton signed before he wrote this for it to become a movie. (So we get lots crazy movie-like action scenes.) He also introduces a few characters in the beginning and forgets about them. And although interesting in places, I think he didn't do a very good job of creating plausible time travel, lots of inconsistencies.

So I give it a 2.5/5

I read the book when it first came out .. I liked it. Far from his best, a lot of flaws like you've all said .. but it was decent. My friend wanted the game when it came out, and I talked to someone and he hooked me up .. I didn't even want to play it since I knew it'd suck .. but it was far worse than I ever could've imagined. I got a piece of paper and slipped it in the cd case that said :
Timeline
1999 - Book is released, someone decides to make a game.
2000 - Game is released. Total crap.

with a line connecting the two dates. Thennnn .. like a week later, I found this and just had to laugh my ass off.
