I am going to be at the E3 expo from wednesday to friday. Anybody else going there?

A few people have already discussed this. It looks like we're going to get together on Friday the 18th, around lunch time.

How does this sound: If I remember the layout correctly from last year, there's a concessions area just to the left of the entrance to West Hall (facing into the hall.) This is probably as good a place to meet as any. Say, 12:30PM, in the hallway just outside the concessions area?

After the hall closes, Loki's going to try to meet up with us for some drinks. Our best bet is probably to meet outside the expo center at, say, 6:15pm (just after the expo closes for the evening.) Let's plan to meet at the main entrance to South hall, on Figueroa street.

And so that we actually can find each other... I'm ~6' tall, long blond hair, goatee, and I'll probably be wearing a black shirt. (that shouldn't describe TOO many people who will be there.

But just let me voice a concern: as far as I know there are no places to go for a beer where we're meeting. But I'm sure we can come up with something.
There are some cool places going towards the westside - so does anyone come with a car? Because I've only got a motorcycle which is just enough to scare one person to death.

I'm really looking forward to meet you guys - this will be fun.

My hotel's in Santa Monica, so I've got no real reason to stay downtown. In the past I've just taken taxis around the city. It gets expensive fast, but E3 comes but once a year...

well, I was SUPPOSED to go, but my deal didn't work out, apparently they are being overly strict this year, and they can't sneak me a ticket... is there any way to just stop by the area and get in? it's only an hour drive from my house.... any way for somone like me (general public) to get in at all?

shahar2k: I think it's unfortunately very hard to get a pass for E3 this late in the game. (The free registration period was over a while ago...) You should definitely meet up with us afterwards, though. And next year, if you need help getting a pass, let me know early. My company usually picks up a couple extra "honorary" employees for the show.

Well, I think we're going to try to meet at the expo center after the show closes on Friday (so 6:15pmish.) After that we'll probably bum around town a bit, get some food, and very likely go out partying. But, being from nowhere near LA, it's kind of hard for me to say exactly where we'll be, and when.

Loki, you know any good night spots we could all meet up at?

Well my original plan was to go thurs and friday and meet you all on friday but somthing kind of came up with my folks so i have to help them out .. on a lighter note i did go yesterday and had a blast !, took tons of pictures, but some came out funked up cuz the stupid digital cam was acting up. Anyhow ill be sure to post some pictures im sure others wll too ! .. ohh yah and if you going today take a look at activisions booth .. they have some good looking ladies at the wolfinstin part

anyhow hope you all have fun later

Howdy, folks! Well, we had a pretty small turnout today, but with any luck, we'll be able to pick up a couple extra people tomorrow. We're going to meet up outside of South Hall, right by the monster truck crushing the cop car. (Basically, right across the street from the GOD Promised Lot.) So far, we've got Yaz, Alan and myself, plus assorted friends.

So anyone else who wants to meet up, Saturday at 12:30 at the monster truck in front of South Hall. If you need to get a hold of me, (414)587-4980.

Oh, and I got plenty of pictures, which I'll post when I get home.

crap, well, partially crap anyways... at the last moment, (last night) I'm talking to a friend who was at E3 (Capnpyro) and he tells me that I can have his pass for the last day of the show, so I went and in all the excitement forgot to look up the phone numbers, sorry to miss all'yall. maybe next year....
we should arrange an E3 "fund" where those with access can add those without so that anyone on Sijun can have fun and go if they want and can...

E3 was a hell of a lot of fun, played Halo, Unreal chanpionship, and most of the gamecube stuff, I'm VERY impressed with nintendo, but that's not something the show did anything to change

X-box seems to be a ragtag collection of ho-hum titles that'll be out for PC pretty soon, and I can wait... the PS2 seems to be faltering, but I think it'll be pretty successfull, and the PC.. well that's what X-box ports are for

and that's really what I came out of E3 feeling... so anyone else want to follow?
