I'm just out of high school and in a few years would *like* to work doing 3d animation/concept, I've been doing 3d and drawing for endless hours a day, something like 10 to 11 hours a day for the past while (I've decided I won't go out for awhile, lol), but I have little to no money saved for college/university, so I was wondering if there's anyone else that has been in this situation? On top of that all of the good universities/schools are located outside of my province like VFS or sheridan. Has anyone taken out student loans for school and are they hard to pay back? Plus how much of the tuition will a student loan cover? I've checked the official site but there's some info there that I don't have that I would need in order to get an accurate estimate. Should I work doing something I don't enjoy for 2 or 3 years just to get the money to go to school or what? I'm sure lots of you have been in the same situation at one point, any advice? |

Pretty much all colleges have a financial aide department. The first thing is to call them, and see what they can do. Paying back loans is a pain (usually managable, but still a pain), but unless you have a very well paying job it will take more than just a few years to save enough money to go to a credible school. Since you live in canada I don't know what government subsidized financial aide you have access to but that is ussually the best place to start, then get loans from private lenders if you don't have enough.
