Just got back from watching that inconsistent piece of %$*&*(.
Anyway - concerning my paintings:
Yes, I can see the resemblence, but no, I don't think anyone who worked on that movie was inspired by my paintings. It's just too general. But nice to see an airship in a canyon (moving!) ...
The matte paintings were pretty obvious though ... oh well. |

I agree with you Loki.. I had seen the movie when people were saying that they had ripped your paintings... but I was pretty sure it was just a coincident.
Yes the matte paintings were so obvious that as another thing I also noticed |

I thought the movie was supposed to be a cheesy ripoff of indiana jones. It was cheesy.. but I guess I happen to like cheesy fiction. :P
guess not everybody has to agree with me. |

Loki: I saw the balloon in the canyons and thought "hey, thats like Loki's pic", but then i saw those half-mile-high waterfalls too and was really surprised.
But I suspect you're right in saying it's just a coincidence. But you never know, they may have used your work for inspiration.

Boy, they gave me such a bad name. Prince!?! Prince!?! Who's a prince? Not me, I assure you. Try vizier to pharaoh Djoser, or High priest, or architect of the City of Dead and the Step Pyramid at Saqqara, or writer of the lost book of Wisdom or the patron saint of scribes, and much later worshiped as the god of healing ect... Anyway, the guy that they got to play me was pretty cool, although I was far from evil...

I just came back from watching it tonight, and I have to say it was the worst movie I've seen in quite a while. The kid was unbearable, all the one-liners were unimaginative and bad, the effects were extremely bad (especially the balloon stuff) and the story was completely nonsensical.
Oh well. |
