Not really a problem, but more of a feature I wish I had. I have had a wacom tablet for a short time now, and i love it. The only problem is that when i draw on paper as I am so used to doing, I am constantly re-orienting the paper with my left hand as I draw with my right. Is there any photoshop plugin or utility that would allow me to rotate the canvas within photoshop by say holding down a few buttons and dragging with the stylus in a different direction? This would make drawing using the tablet a 100x easier. |

Painter classic will do that as I'm sure other versions of it will.
There is no similar function in Pshop 5 or 5.5 that will duplicate "rotating the canvas on the fly" that I've found.
One trick would be to oversize your canvas when you begin a project and depending on if you paint on layers you may need to link them first. If you hit the Command T <Crtl T on PC I think> it will enable the transform function. Grab a corner, drag and it should rotate the direction you desire.
Hope that helps some. |

Once again, another reason I use Painter, and not Photoshop. As the respective names imply, Painter is way better for drawing and Painting (and is faster with strokes as well) and Photoshop is awesome and precise, but sucks (IMHO) for painting (or getting the pencil\paper experience).
Painter, any version, will let you hit ALT-SPACE (I think) and let you rotate the canvas...excellent feature. I also like the stylus pressure calibration utility which lets me adjust my pressure curve..the brushes are second to none (Painter 5 thru 5.5, not 6).
Painter also has 32 undos with CNTRL-Z, but I guess Photoshop 6 finally got this too.
Also, laying down color with the simple water tool is incredible..I am currently trying to duplicate the marker technique with Painter..and I think it's possible..tho it won't have those cool marker lines (no sarcasm there).
