hey guy, the linework in your concept drawings is so lush. cool outfits and hot ladies. if i had a cripe it would be the way your characturs seem to loose something from lines to 3d, imo. nice work. |

Your three anime designs on this page http://www.delopolis.com/content/personal.html seem to closely (almost too closely, if you know what I mean) this person's work http://www7.big.or.jp/~hakua/index.html . I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and call it inspiration, instead of blatant ripp-off... but I think it would be best to remove said pics from your portfolio .
Your other work seems nice

It's too bad your an idiot Dino because judging by your impressive portfolio you'd have alot to learn by others, including mr delo here. I'm glad your giving him the benefit of the doubt too, that's so nice of you. Maybe we should all start asking you for your keen eye in deciphering art before its posted. Because surely someone with a developed talent such as delo comes from a background of plagarism and ripping. It only makes sense doesn't it? |

Well, I've obviously upset a few people. I, like any other human being, do make mistakes. And if I wrongfully accused you of plagiary delo, then I sincerely apologize to you and everyone else I may have upset in doing so. With that said, I must also say that on the three images in question--the three manga styled girls--the designs and presentation of the images are so similar that it is very hard for me to believe that the resemblance is simply coincidence. As I already said I could be wrong and my intention wasn't to attack your credability, although I admit it may have come off that way. I also didn't make any death threats or witty insults, I simply stated that the designs of the characters in three images within your portfolio looked to me as though they may have been inspired and/or copied from another source. Unfortunately, that source's website is down and therefore it will be pretty difficult for me to show you and everyone else what I'm refering too. I'm not sure but I may have saved some of the images, so I'll have a look through my harddrive and see if I can find some examples. Again I'm sorry if I have falsely accussed you, it may have been misunderstanding on my part, but if I can find the designs I'm refering too, maybe you will be able to understand why.
your three images that I wrote about:
And thank you for your insults ![](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

Here's one. I'm still searching for the others...I'm not sure if I saved them or not so I may have to ask a friend if he may have them.
To me it appears as if you might have 'borrowed' half of the design in this image (the torso of the girl) and mixed it with half of another of Ugestu's images, which I'm still looking for, to make your image. Again I'm not accussing you of plagiarism, simply trying to explain my position.

Veda, to me you sound like such a dumbass. You obiviously seen nill to nothing of Dino's work, so how do you attack him like that?
I dont know if dino's still got artwork up but from what ive seen he should be schooling alot of people ![](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

Well it looks like it might take me a little longer to find some more of Ugestu's older images, shouldn't take to long though. But I'll have to continue the search tomorrow as I have work to do before I hit the sack. I thought I'd upload the pics side by side. This is not the only coincidence I've noted I assure you, once I find the pics I'll post them. I may have to ask the artist himself if I still can't find them. And please refrain from the flammage until I've made my point, I would never intentionally risk damaging someone's reputation by doing something like this, I am not only risking hurting his reputation but mine as well. As I said it's possible that this whole thing is a huge coincidence, or is due to inspiration or even copying. I've have tried to put myself in another person's position and believe it was the former, but I must regretfully admit I feel as though I am almost certain it is either or both of the latter two. I am also a very optimistic person and as much as I know better I'm hoping I'm wrong, but the evidence may suggest otherwise. Here is the first example cropped and resized in photoshop for sake of comparison.
And no roundeye. If it were just the catsuit do you think I'd even bother with this? What sane person would?...The coincidence is far greater and in not one but all three images.

have you been to the main site at all? have you seen these?
it's called fashion, man. do you want to know what my source materials are? victoria's secret catalogues and rave fashion websites. i can't believe you seem so dedicated to slandering me. . . i can see some resemblance in the swimsuit, but if you'd like, i'll send you the nude image and the variations setting i used to MAKE A WHITE SWIMSUIT OUT OF A SKIN SELECTION. Which is the same white i use for everything that's supposed to be white in every item of technic clothing. Jesus.

I'm not trying to slander you. In fact, I'm am willing to let it go completely. These three images obviously seem much older than your other images and it is very possible that you and the other artist had the EXACT same references and if that is the case than this could have been a big misunderstanding on my part. Please understand I wasn't trying to slander you, I enjoyed viewing your work, it is just there have been people visiting these forums recently that have been ripping off the other forum members work so I and other members I'm sure, have gotten a little antsy. Your images and the other fellows are so incredibly alike that the reference coincidence would be the only plausible way of explaining it. Thank you for bringing it up as it has helped me see the proverbial 'light' as it were, and has made it easier to except that I may have made a mistake. I must admit though...the similarities are uncanny and if it were not for your other images showing your obvious talent, I wouldn't be able to believe you. With that said, I will let it go and accept that it was just an incredible coincidence that you both used the same references and rendered the images in a similar style. I will exercise humility now and offer you the sincerest of apoligies. Although I don't expect your forgiveness, I hope you won't let this incident ruin your forum experience.

And thank you for defending me Burnout I like your work too
I also don't blame anyone for getting upset with me 'cause if I were in there position I may have done the same. Please understand that although I'm still having a difficult time believing delo as both his three images and Ugetsu's work have so many similarities that either person could've of flat out ripped off the others work. The fact that they may have used the exact same references is the only other possible explaination--well either that or there soul mates The designs of the outfits are strikingly similar
Let me also say that they both have wonderful taste ![](images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif) |

it's quite alright man. i totally understand where you are coming from, as some of my things have been outright stolen in the past as well. i hope you can understand (and forgive me for it) why i would be so offended by the accusation, particularly my first time out on this board. i can also see how it might be suspect that, in lieu of the rest of the materials in the portfolio section of my webpage, that three manga-style character renderings might seem to pop out of nowhere; these illustrations were done for the delopolis project proper, and i haven't yet found the appropriate place for them in its layout. i freely admit to using numerous sources of inspiration. . . most of them have been posted and linked (if websites are available) in the media/resources section of my main website. in addition, here is some dev art, some of the hard copy source, and links to influential stuff online for these 3 pics:
original sketch influenced mainly by http://www.karmaloop.com/html/indexhtm.html
and rave culture in general, and built on a pose guide (when working with a new style or intending to mass produce designs, i typically draw 15-20 pose guides to grind in the proportions i want to work with)
the cabbie uses this style of shirt and i lifted and reversed the position of the arms.
and this style of pants
here's an example of the pose guide and first clean-run nude for the goth girl
the inspiration for this was a healthy dose of brom (corseted characters), www.skintwo.com in the store for actual corsets (i think the raver shrug shirt may have come from there also), and some game dev art from www.thegia.com (hundred swords, i believe) for the idea of puffy sleeves et cetera.
color style courtesy of the post street fighter alpha capcom studio and random other shit.
hope this resolves everything.

Thanks for being so understanding about this whole thing . I'm sorry I even doubted you, you're obviously totally on the level. This whole thing made me so nervous I didn't get any work done. I would've hated myself if I made a mistake and ended up turning away a potential peer . There's no need to apologize, I totally understand. If anyone should apologize it should be me.
Bytheway: If you haven't been there already here's a link to the
Hundred Swords homepage <JAPAN> If you dig the artwork, you can find anything posted on the GIA and more here. It's in japanese but if you hover over the menu the urls displayed in your browser are in english. Look in the gallery and world sections. To save you time heres the gallery link.
Anyway, I'm glad everything's cool now, 'cause The Sandman's calling See you 'round ![](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

no problem. like i said, it's totally understandable. and the side-by-sides are unnervingly similar, that's one of the reasons i felt it necessary to dig out all the background stuff i could find. . . makes me wish i had gone with the chocolate brown two-piece undergarment instead of the white singlet, but that would have looked funny on the guy ;-)
anyhow, no grudge. . . if you haven't had the time, please check out the entirety of www.delopolis.com . it's sort of an open-source intellectual property experiment, and i would be honored if any of you talented people might have the time or inclination to participate.
