does anyone know of a site I can consult? I am a newbie in the extreme, but I need to enhance my sketching/illustrating skills as I'm a graphic designer, and can no longer rely only on my photoshop skills. |

A quick search turned up: http://www.cartooncommunity.com/tutorials.html
A better bet would be a book based on whatever skill level you're comfortable with. Best bet would be a flesh-and-blood person to give you tips and exercises.
When I know I've got a heavy drawing gig coming up I start doing self-portraits (at least one a day) at least a week before the job. Also the simpler exercises like drawing and shading an egg are invaluable. |
