The new forum just seems like a bit....much. Logging in is the worst, and the ratings...ugh...don't get me started. I really don't want this place to become newgrounds.com where rating is so objective.

Well, I agree with you when it comes to the ratings, but logging in isn't a problem - it logs me in automatically, so it's actually quicker now.

The UBB Code and Smiley buttons are a great addition, although there should really be an 'image' button there too.

I like the new stuff. I wouldnt worry too much about the ratings because i think that people will not pay any attention to it after a while.

You can turn off your rating if you want, in your profile. And there is an image button, under Instant UBB Code.

I happen to welcome the changes, friendlier and more productive. I get logged in automatically (cookie?) when I visit the page, so no need to constantly enter your name/pw for each post, etc. The rating isn't anything meaningful, but I agree it leaves the door open for misinterpretation.

In general, I find the new options in the forum to be very good... it's slower, that's for sure, but it's probably because of the 286 and 300 baud modem it's running on...

dont get me wrong, i still frequent way too much. but its sooo slow.
mabye it has to the 100+ new members a day! (or almost 100 eheh eheh...)

I have to say I was hoping this new version change the "reply" page. I have written about this before. Internet Explorer users get this tiny window at the bottom of the page with the rest of the thread. It has a scroll bar so you can look through the thread, but it isn't much help because the window isn't effective. I pray to the Dhab god to do something. Whenever I wanna write a reply to someone's image, I want to be able to go back and forth from the image and my reply. Having two windows open for every reply is just a pain in the ass.

Maybe I should just go back to netscape. But I would lose all my links! arrghh! this is all synj's fault!!
