what's the best way to learn about light? how it works, light sources. the whole works. any good books? any specific types of classes? anyinfo would be much appreciated. |

The first book that comes to mind is John Alton's "Painting with light"...It's one of the bibles of cinematography. (Alton was the king of film noir cinematography). His teaching applies to paintings as well...
you might want to have a look at the documentary "Visions of light" too. It covers the best of the best Directors of Photograhy. Truly a great film.
Maybe I'll suggest more if I can think of anything. |
