So i'm wondering if anyone knows where I can buy these shapes (cones, spheres, etc.)
made from wood, styrofoam, or whatever.
Also how about an asaro head? Do they sell those anywhere? or anything like that?
I need to practice values and thingels. |

yea any arts and crafts store should probly have somethin useful.
you could always find useless objects around the house that are those shapes that you can paint with white gesso...

for me man poser 4 has been a blessing.
its a 3d huma figure program real easy to make them in the possions you want.
it's like having your own model working for nothing.
also you can just use the hand model or the heads
and they have all the basic shapes like cubes so on.
plus you can change the lighting and stuff.
well anyways its like $400.
but if you contact me i can get it to you for little to nothing.

There's a place near my house that sells potatos. If you want, I can buy one for you and ship it over C.O.D.

burn0ut: I must make a trip to artcenter. 85 dollars is a little steep. What's it made out of? ivory taken from elephants?
totally: I'll check into that, thanks.
stneil777: must... paint... from.... life
rdgraffix: thanks.. that's just great. Would you send me, too please, a vibrator that plugs into the wall? I use the one I have now quite a bit and it's a pain going out for batteries. Oh also a can of "big boy lube" annddd a box of pornography. Thanks buddy!

I got a bunch of useful items at my arts and crafts store too. Styrofoam and pretty cheap (compared to $85). Don't bother with the asaro head, you can learn all the values just as good on the styrofoam simple shapes.
However, you MIGHT want to get one or two plaster models. Either just of a head or standing nudes. There's a variety to pick from. I have one of a greek head which costs $24 or so. Dunno why an asaro head is so much more expensive. The greek head is very decorative too, whenever I'm not using it to draw from. |
