I was looking at the loomis info there seems to be a conflict in the placing of the flexors of the hand and the brachioradialis...because in different illustrations the flexor carpi radialis appears to be beside the brachioradialis but sometimes it looks as though it is the flexors of the hand which are beside it..and I know the palmarus longis is on the other side...if anyone knows what I'm babbling about please introduce some order into this chaos...thanks

beers....I mean cheers...heh

Heh, made me bust out the anatomy book for this one

In my book, looking at the arm hanging down and from the palmar aspect, The brachioradialis wraps in from the left by the elbow and goes down, over the supinator, and lays in right parallel to the flexor carpi ulnaris.

So, from left to right, you get brachioradialis, the supinator, the flexor carpi radialis, the palmaris longus, and the flexor carpi ulnaris on the far right.

I think we might be splitting hairs here. This one came dangerously close to making my head blow up

ahhh, thank you! you are the god among men. But seriously, thank you for taking the time to look through your book to help me, it's really appreciated. I couldn't really go on with the arm without knowing that, thank you,

origional post lost--had to rewrite, this version is plain and simple

my dynamic anatomy book by burne hogarth and the loomis figure drawing seems to have different names for certain muscles I'm not sure if there is an old and new system or something. I have also found info that states that the brachioradialis is the same muscle as the supinator longus... or something about a brachioradialis accessory, anyway I'm extremely confused because my book and the lommis site use slightly different terms so I it's hard to compare muscles...

[edit] toned down the violence...heh

The supinator goes under the brachioradialiss, maybe that is why some drawings don't show it. But together with the brachioradialis, the supinator froms that little triangular shaped pit below your elbow called the cubital fossa (?). It's the triangle that points towards your hand.
