I'm trying to make a mermaid, and i was wondering if anyone has any tips or suggestions as to how i can create a nice scale effect.. this is for a friends band logo.. i have photoshop 5.5 and can prob gettin other programs. |

You might want to try going to search engine like www.metacrawler.com and searching for pictures of mermaids. It would be easier to look at some example images than for someone to describe a process here.

My drawing teacher draws tons of fish. I mean TONS. Practically half his portfolio is full of oil pantings of fish. Fish laying flat, fish with ribbons, fish with apples, fish with ribbons and apples...
He usually just buys them at the market, I think. To bad he isn't a digital artist, otherwise I could tell him to post here.

there is a neet way using channels and filter effect way to hard to explain.
just make a new channel and use the filture texture umm forgot the name but if the value is real small it looks lie scales.
then guasian blur well then back to layers and filture lighting effects.
if you have no idea what i am talking about goto www.designsbymark.com and look read the tutor on reptile letters same concept |
