im pretty sure they are just scanned textures that he has blended and tweaked in photoshop

Why don't you try different techniques and find the one that feels right for you instead of trying to copy somebody else work?
You'll learn more by trying to figure it out yourself (and hopefully you'll find a way to make it more personal) than if somebody tells you to use this filter and this effect and this paint. The secret of good stuff is not in the technique, it's in the talent. |

Well, i'm a color artist. In fact i like coloring draws and sketch. I want to acquire some tecniques because i belive that i just have some talent.
I don't want to copy but acquire his tecnique. Fullstop. |
