Hi all,
Well, I get the impression from my last thread that e-portfolios for digital art are a non-starter.
It looks like, if I want to get some colour jobs, I'm going to need to send out new colour portfolios (I already do b&w work for a few RPG companies, but no colour). The pics I have to use are a mix of oils, coloured pencil, and digital. I guess my question is, what's the best and most economical way to create a portfolio out of that mess?
It seems like printing them on a colour printer might be the least time-consuming, but what kind of print quality would you suggest? Is colour photocopying worth looking into (at least for the paper originals)? Any suggestions would be appreciated. My primary target right now is fantasy book and game publishers.

YOu know what ?? It really doesnt matter what medium you use to create your color pics. Well i mean in the game industry, now its mostly digital, so showing in your portfolio color images made in photoshop or painter and any other paint program would be a plus. BUt when it comes to artwork for books um anything goes. Acrylics and oils and watercolors are very much used for book covers and illutrations.
Well if you dont have any color images um just take some of your b&w ones and put some color on. Hey what do you want to do in the game industry BTW???
As for print well unless you have a really really good printer that you can use i would suggest to go print it a print shop. It doest cost too much but the results sure show that you care about your work =). |
