I was going to get an Intuos 4x5 tablet, but they recently had an overstock on serial tablets and I may just be able to get a 6x8 (serial) does anyone know any major diffrences between the Serial & USB versions?
Any input would help, thanks!!!
BTW Here's a link to the whole overtock thing...

I bought myself an USB because if I have that Wacom for such a long time as my old tablet I wont have a serial connection on my future-motherboard! |

The serial tablet requires a seperate power cord. It sucks. I wish I had USB. |

I really dont care about the fact that it's not USB. It's not like serial ports are going away. And if it does, you still have converters and extra controller cards you can get. You may call it overkill, but I just ordered a 12x18 via a friend in the states. I'm spoiling myself.
Can't wait. I like big work area. I have a 12x12 at work, and I love it.

check out harmonycomputers.com (think thats the url) they are selling refurbished 6x8 usb special editions for only 200. I bought one from them last week, the site said there was a 1 week backorder but I got it in the mail only 5 days after placing the order (they had shipped it 2nd day for free :)
Its guarenteed by wacom for a year and factory sealed so what do you have to loose? it comes with all the same stuff you would normaly get and it looks and acts brand new, it rocks. |

Eh, it's better than no tablet.
I know a lot of people that use Macs, and they don't have serial ports. And the power cord is really a pain in the ass, since I take my laptop into studios with limited outlets all the time.
12x18, damn. That's really sweet. You're l33t. Backlight? |
