Hi,
I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on shading in an anime style? Here's an example of what I mean. This is not my work...
Thanks,
Jesse

It's just realy dividing your shadows into various layers of flat values. Nothing to it really.

Yea.. i slways used to work at this style of drawing/coloring when i really started working on my drawing (kinda). What lunatique said.. and you have to think of your shading as shadows cast over stuff.. like a simple shadow behind someone on a clear, sunny day. Look at 'Jack' by Dhabih. See those shadows on the guy's face? That's kind of what i'm talking about. Harsh shadows like that.
Oh my the way, this guy was my idol when i first started drawing back in 10th grade. I love his style.. it's so different than everything else you see out there in movies, manga.. whatever. Just his use of shapes and shading and stuf *sigh*. Even though I don't ever do 'anime' stuff anymore, he's still one of my favorties.
Hope that helped,
