I know this is kind of a odd question, but this troubles me anyway.
So where do you guys keep your tablet when drawing/when not drawing? Is it always at the same position on your desk?

I don't really like moving that tablet everyplace, so I keep it between the keyboard and mousemat. But always when I'm browsing net and generally using mouse and keyboard back and forth, I so often smash that pen off the tablet to the floor, when I'm switching from the keyboard to the mouse or backwards. But I'm still too lazy to apart that penholder of that tablet or transfer that tablet to other place when using mouse+keyboard.

I just use the tablet as the mouse pad.
I just move the mouse over to the right when Im not using it.

My wacom is directly in front of me, straight in front of the screen. I wouldn't mind having it on an inclined angle, but my desk is flat. I keep the keyboard on a slight angle to the left and generally use my left hand for shortcut keys, which works great.

When I need to type, I lean over to the keyboard, and I never use the mouse. I've found that navigating with the wacom has increased my sensitivity and accuracy, so I'm more attuned when I get around to drawing.
The more you use it - the better you get.

Other people panic when they need to do something on my computer - the wacom mouse is relative to the tablet, not itself, and the regular mouse doesn't grip the tablet surface well. It's a never-ending source of ammusement for me. Just this morning, someone was trying to navigate with my stereo remote controll!

I keep my tablet under my desk when not in use. On my lap when in use. I never tried using it lying down flat... don't have enough desk space, and I want to keep the mouse where it is (I use the scroll wheel a lot).

Mine is where my keyboard usually goes in front of my monitor. Since I've only got about 14 inches of space there, the keyboard gets shoved slightly under the monitor --it's a Mac monitor with those "legs". The tablet hangs a little over the edge, but that's cool since my arm can rest on my chair arm for full support. Keyboard commands are executed with the left hand. During typing chores I simply move my keyboard up and rest it on the pad.

it's the A4 oversize, so I had to move everything to fit it in... I have my mouse really far back so my elbow is way behind my back... still getting used to it... I never move the wacom tho...

I've always shied away from putting it on my lap for fear that it would irradiate my privates. No basis in fact, mind you --just primative superstition. Frankly --as much as I understand how computers and their components work the Wacom tablet remains unknown and magical.

I had to buy a new desk for mine...now I have it setup...keyboard in front of monitor, wacom to the right of my keyb, and my mouse pad on a sliding thing that comes out the desk....even tho I end up with the wacom on my lap sitting indian style.

I'm turned at a 90 degree angle from my monitor with my feet propped up on the window sill next to my desk, tablet in lap. Probably explains why some of my artwork's perspective is so weird

I too use mine as a mouse pad(since I have an optical mouse I had to stick some nice rough drawing paper under the flap in order to get the mouse to track). My desk has nice slide out flaps on either side of me, and I rest my arm on that, sometimes with a pillow on the flap. Very comfy.

i have mine on an easel i built on my desk. i keep reference material on another easel next to the monitor.

Keep mine on the edge of my top desk,
as I have a pull-out, desk where I keep my keyboard and my intellimouse (1 Think we can thank microsoft for )
Put my inteeli mouse on the top desk and drag put the wacom tablet inits place....

My keyboard is in front of the monitor, Wacom is alongside the keyboard, and I use mouse in front of the tablet so that I can use the mousepad for resting my elbow. Clever, eh?

I put the tablet on my lap, then lean it against my desk when it's not in use. I do worry about the cord wearing from always moving it, but i suppose other things may wear out before that. Like everyone else, my desk is a mess, and with 2 machines, there isn't a lot of room on the desktop for a 12x12 tablet. I started drawing this way, and i find it to be the most comfortable, for me at least -

i would use the wacom as a mousepad, but 1) optical mouse doesn't like it and 2) i'm left handed and i mouse with my right. so... i lap it when i use it and i put it on top of my full tower case when it isn't being used.

well...i've got a keyboard tray built on my desk so i keep the keyboard there and push it in when i'm not using it. i keep my tablet on the dest in front of my monitor....it's 9x12, so not quite a perfect fit, but o well....

ever try and type with the pen in your hand? as a result of doing that, i type only with my middle finger on my right hand and all my fingers on my left hand....it's sick...

I've built up my desk so I can work at it standing up or sitting at a drafting chair. My 12x12 WACOM is sitting in front of the monitor, with the angling brackets attached to the bottom, keyboard on an angle at the left for keyboard commands. My mouse is off playing by itself somewhere. If I do word-processing or database work, I push the WACOM toward the monitor, and put the keyboard in front of the WACOM and the mouse to the left of the keyboard (ran out of deskspace on the right).
