Hey guys n gals,
As you might have noticed this is my first post. I am not the best artist as you may notice, infact I am probebly the worst at this board and if anyone wants to challenge me for it dont bother, I WILL WIN In browsing this board for quite some time I thought involving myself is only going to benefit me due to the fact that you all kick ass at digital design.
Hehe anyway, enough babble and on with the question. I am having trouble in the area of converting a stick outline to actual body proportions. I have included the body language wanted in my sketch that was started but I can't seem to successfully develop a process of converting stick figure to actual human proportions.
If anyone can give me a little tutorial or the like it would be very appreciated.
Thanks,
Rory (the no talent newbie).

Hi Rory, welcome to the forum. I won't offer any cits here but rather direct you to two sites that will help. http://www.antsin3d.com/loomis/ for figure drawing. http://www.polykarbon.com/ for anime style people.
Good luck!

I know that feeling. I'm just learning to draw people, using the loomis project. Anyway, The only thing you can do is draw a lot, and make som tries.
Here is a girl I drawed yesterday. Used about 7 min or so. I think this is the way to learn!
sorry about spaming your thread by the way! |

Crap that was quick.
Thanks for the pages Budoka, they should be very helpful. Andskj, I am guessing that was a life drawing right? Well for seven minutes work that looks pretty good. And I guess its true about practice, practice and more practice. Personally I have drawn about 6 human bodies in my whole life, hehe. Good heads (facials, etc.) with stick bodies. I usually stick to objects rather than human figures but I think it is time I started.

No worries Andskj, if I am happy with my final sketch I will post it up ONLY IF I AM SATISFIED. Your drawings are pretty cool, keep it up.
