Unless I'm mistaken, she said "I think your bitch mother farted". Don't blame the messanger
Well, I'm gonna do what I promised I wouldn't, and comment on that thread's other topic:
I don't believe art is a zero sum game. It's true that many people are perhaps beginning to follow your technique, producing similar content.
But technique is not everything, there's vision as well.
At first it can seem daunting... when I first started doing level desing, my technique was mediocre, and I was very intimidated by vision. I saw 100's of good levels, rooms, walls, details that I knew in a million years I couldn't have thought of.
What I didn't realize is, each person was perhaps only having 1 or 2 good bits of vision, but I was seeing them as one big intimidating evil.
At least for me, after realizing that, I gained some solice, and could begin to feel proud of my work again. It led to my work being better as well.
I don't think anyone around here wants to harm your lively hood, but at the same time, you've shown us something truely amazing, and like any human, we don't want you to close the door.
But we're not you, so you have to do what is right, for you, in your situation. If nothing else, I thank you for showing skills I wouldn't have thought possible. |
