so i am watching this special on the travel channel about Edinburgh, Scotland. they are talking about this extremely haunted place, a tomb of some sort where visitors can come but they are warned about things that have happened to previous visitors, such as scratches on their necks, chests, and the like. i kinda of came into into the special after it had already started. they were also talking about a castle that is haunted as well.
im not big into the paranormal things, but the channel wouldn't publish bs like this. just very interesting.
oh yes Edinburgh looks like an extremely pretty place.

Are you talking about the High Street? the details are sketchy in my head but after an outbreak of the plague what is now the Royal Mile was built on top of the old high street to seal it up. You can go under the Royal Mile now and see the street as it was before, its supposed to be extremely haunted.
Edinburgh is full of tunnels as well. A friend of mine used to have a flat down in Leith at the shore of the river Forth (Forth Bridge anyone?) and the basement was connected to Waverly Station over a mile away. Edinburgh is quite cool, doesn't make me look forward to my work though :

There's tons of haunted stories in Edinburgh, so it's hard to find out which one you refer to. Anyway, come over here during the festival (or anytime, for that matter) and go on one of the haunted tours. |

I've been twice in Edinburgh. In Spain (I don't know why) every man dreams of travelling to Scotland, and every woman dreams of going to Australia. In my case it is justified as I am a fan of Scottish rugby.
And I can tell that the entire Scotland is worth seeing. From the Highlands to the English border, the landscapes are great, and do not listen to those that tell you that the people there are rude and so. I found them much more friendly than the English people (at least than those English I've met).
I went to Edinburgh while the Festival both times, and I really enjoyed it though it was too crowded. The atmosphere of finding a ghost was quite perceptible there, much more than in Spain where, though we have many more castles than Scotland (and much better conserved) you never have the feeling of being in a haunted place, just an historical one. |
