I don't get this. I start drawing in photoshop with pressure set on 'med' and everything cool.. but then, all of a sudden, pressure decides to flake on and off. pressure on, pressure off, pressure on, pressure off, pressure off, pressure off, pressure on, pressure off. It's really annoyting and completely kills the experience of making art with a computer for me. Does anyone else have this problem? I'm using the latest drivers and I have 256MB of ram pII-333. Anyone have a fix? |

skullighter::
Describe the problem you are having with your Wacom a little further. What tool you are using, what do you have the pressure sensitivity set to affect in Photoshop (brush size, opacity, color), etc. That will help us diagnose the problem better. I'm using the latest drivers too and I don't have this problem and your system is powerful enough to handle the tablet, so it has to be the settings.. btw, have you tried changing the Wacom control panel options back to default? Any difference?
Take care. |

it's a usb. I'm pretty sure it's the tablet, not photoshop. It does it with the paintbrush. I'll be sketching a drawing and pressure is working fine, it's only set on opacity. Then for seeming no reason at random time when I touch the pad with the pen again to make another stroke, it goes in 100% opacity. Then i'll go to do another stroke and it works fine. It's like every other stroke the opacity doesn't work. But more random.

Are your strokes usually fast ? Like sketching or cross hatching ? There was a thread bout this a few months ago. |

You may need to slow down the speed at which you draw. Sometimes when you draw fast the tablet just registers it at 100% opacity. Also, you may try to contact support. Happened to me a few times before....just reduce the speed at which you draw at and you can also try reputting in the nib. |

skulllighter:
I know this problem.
its caused by other applications that are running at the same time (at least with me it was this).
If you shitch from photoshop to another app. and then back again it can happen too sometimes-
If you size the photoshop window that youre drawing in down and then back up it should work again. hopefully |

If your using 2k/nt try putting Photoshop on high-priority. It helps a bit.
And you dont need to rezise the window, just swith to another app and back. Like winamp or something.

This is a real problem that Wacom knows about. Try slowing down, and also if you want to get a real light opacity actually set the slider down, down try to use an extremely light touch. Quick, light touches seem to do that for me.
But I haven't had the problem in a while. Maybe I just avoid it by habit now. |

I have the exact same problem too, but mine was with a 4x6 Graphire -- I found that if I drew too quickly, the opacity on _any_ tool would fuck up. I found that switching to another tool, and then back to the paintbrush/airbrush set the opacity back...But it is nonetheless annoying. =\

i have the same problem with a 6x8 intuos, and for me it has nothing to do with the speed of the strokes. it only seems to happen when i'm drawing a vertical line, and if i draw from the top down, i get 100% opacity. if i draw from the bottom up, it works. go figure. ..but i AM using win2k, so i'll try the tip mentioned above. thanks.

yep i get this ALL the time.. very very very annoying.. on win2k.. drawing on sec and then it goes fat and puts big streaks
i also get this problem that after i use the eraser part of my pen it sometimes doesnt stop erasing when i take the back part of the pen off the tablet, so that when i put the pen part back on it keeps erasing.. anyone else get that?
yeah i just undo the big streaks and then alt + tab and back and it usually works properly |
