do you guys know of anything I could use to animate my drawings.?

there are a bunch of free progs out there. it depends on what type of animation you want to acomplish.

you can get demos of top-notch programs like flash and golive.

then there are totally free ones.....like gif constructor for gif animations, or blender for 3D/gaming animation

I wanted to scan in some hand drawn cells , put them on a painted background and see them move . What would you recommend ?

i would say gif constructor. but you have to create all the images, with backgrounds and everything in photoshop or an equivelent.

if you have photoshop 5.5, it comes with a kick ass little program called IMage Ready. it is a mix of Gif Constructor and Photoshop.

If you have PS & Image Ready....i would use those.

hmm.. scans? why dont you use a tablet instead and use flash. I've found that to be absolutely fun and productive lately.

with scans they can end up being huge files in imageready or flash because of the way its handled.
