when you select a tool that uses a brush, a library of your available brushes are available on the modifier palette.

Yeah! That's what I don't like. In older Photoshop I could access brushes easier, without pop-up menu, but through floating window. I wonder if I can do this in ver 6.

Not sure what the key combo is on a mac, but in windows. to get your brush pallet to pop up.
1. open new or current document.
2. hold down the shift key
3. right click.
Make sure you have your tool selected, like the airbrush or the paintbrush for this to work. Works with other tools too.

You can also stack your pallets instead of having using the tabs to switch back and forth.
1. drag a pallet onto another pallet
2. drag the pallet so it is not ontop of the current pallet's tab, use the space just next to it. You should see the pallet surrounded by a double hightlight.
3. drop the dragged pallet and there you go..stacked pallets.
have fun
