Hi, I won't say much because my eye hurts by staring at the monitor for too long.. Here's a project I'm working on for a band right now, just need to know what do you think if I should keep working like this. (You can easily see where I'm going from this picture).
Please give me some feedback.

Looks cool. But I really can't tell what it is. Btw, you may want to put in another layer that will change that excess white to a mellower color. It's easier on the eyes and the white may actually blind you and cause eye problems. Anyway.. please do tell us what it's supposed to look like or what it's intents supposed to be and then we can further help. |

This one is called "Binding Nothing", it's a CD cover for a band. I'm going to keep working so the all the white areas (except for the stripes) would look kinda lithium-y.
I was just asking for your opinion on the part that I started (on the upper-right corner), should I apply this texture to all the white areas?

... yah you should apply some vaiation of that texture to the rest of the white areas. But, try to give it a bit more shape and volume, not just flat 2d things. Anyway, when i was talking about the overlay for your white color.. i was just saying make it temporary so you don't blind your eyes when drawing. Also, a good idea would be to ask the band what they think on it... I mean you could make it s uper duper wonderful.... and the band may not like it. good luck though. |

So you mean the lithium-like texture is ok, right? Cool, I'll get right on it.
And yeah, maybe it's a good idea to ask the band first, I'll send them a email.

You might also just stop now and build something people can actually look at without going epilleptic.

Did it make YOU go epilleptic? No? That is not an advice, so shut up, I don't need that.

what kind of music does the band play?. Without that it is hard to comment it i think.
Maybe you could make it more like ornaments
or something, it could be more pleasent to
the eye. I must agree that it's irritating for the eye to look at it.

Didnt make me epilleptic, but im not your average cd buyer, either.
My point is that it isn't illustrative. I've seen your other works so i know you're capable of some pretty nifty things, but this concept as it is doesnt appeal to me in the least. It just doesnt communicate.

It's half finished, that means I still have to work on it. The final version will not look like this, and besides I'm thinking of applying canvas textures to it after it's done, so it'll kind of soften the color tone (even with all the whites, I mean)
The music this band plays is kind of heavy, sounds a lot like Deftone. So is it appropriate now?

If it's like the 'tones i'd go with a much more serene and simplistic look. This kinda yells grindcore!
