Well the other threat has 135 post and so many great images. I thought if i wanted to get crit i should start another. Well looking at that awsome post was what inspired me to draw this. Also it would be easier for 56kers if we started a new threat if anyone still wanted to post images go ahead and post here if you like. Course nothing like the ones in the other threat but here it is

Looks good. The top border on the mask and the viewing area(what you would be looking out of)looks out of perspective, other than that I love it. |

Yah.. the tubing looks a bit out of perspective. It comes towards the camera too much for a profile view. Anyway, looks great and all, but it's a bit too flat. Try to add a bit more shading to define volume and shape. Be bold... For example, on the tubing the shading doesn't necessarily fall in the same places on each segment. |

Wicked, I don't know if this will be helpful, but if you think about it as just a bunch of shapes put together, it makes more sense.
I'm not the best artist, by far, on this forum, but maybe these will help even just a little. All this has been said a million times, but it bears repeating a million more, and maybe someone will say it in a way that makes sense to you.
The main part of the helmet is a big circle or oval, right? Every one can draw a simple sphere...
Now, if you just cut a hole in your sphere where the eye sockets would go (just color it dark if you want) and bring part of it down on the side, and you have most of your helmet.
From here, just keep adding shapes. Cyclinders for the gas mask breathers, etc. If you make mistakes (I did here...the cylinders don't look like they are jutting out from the sides correctly...) just paint over.
Everything else is just shapes as well. One of the first things you have to do is pick at least one lightsource. Mine is coming from the left and a little behind the helmet. Think about where the light will hit and what will be in shadow.
I did most of these for you in b&w tones, just to show you the values, but much of the power of the other gas mask pictures (Janne's and Gecko's and Rinaldos, etc, etc) is the use of color. Use contrasting colors to build up interest in your picture.
I suck with colors, so here is my final pic...
Again, I hope I've done more help than harm. If one of the better artists comes along to offer advice, listen to them. If not...go draw those spheres...
