I like the colored version. It has the foggy look to it, which is pretty cool.
Your design has me a bit confused though. The legs seem a bit off at the knees, and I'm not sure what the shoulders are doing either. Not too bad overall, but I think it needs some refinement. It's hard to tell how the limbs are positioned.

Well...i think the sketch is a lot cooler. I think the robot is too dark, and doesn't look as mean as it should. I like the fog, but i do not like the lighting...reminds me of Saturday Night Fever or whatever.
Disco Robot? Sounds cool enuf

Very nice Fredido
I like the way the colored version looks more ferocious - but i do think it's a bit too dark for it's many details...
Coloring is great tho... i can't color at all :/
It's also a bit TOO wobbly for my taste, especially because the colored version looks more realistic - so the "wobbliness" doens't fit with the realism.
Cool, so now we're gonna have a robot-thread, like the gas-mask thread?
I'm working lately on more mech stuff and robots.. i'll post a new one once I find one that I'm happy with.

Yes. Very nice But i'd have to say... the lights really bother me. Can't pinpoint what it is though.. Don't lights have a bit of shading from the place they come from? |

looks cool freddio, don't mind you rippin of my colors at all, hehe. I see your linework has improved a lot.
Comments would be, to think while drawing it , what purpose parts should be designed as it is. Like every part should have a believable function in a way....then the shapes will, since it's a technical robot, look more convincing.
lights could need some more sharp edges, now it's more foggy shading, but harder edges and light that gives/shows the form and materials clearer could give it much more depth.
hope you don't mind some comments, pic looks good

that is very nice.
your attention to lighting makes it appear as if it was rendered with a raytracer. |

Hrmm.. I have no idea what I was saying. But anyway, It's the lights on the robot primarily. Teh ttop two on his shoulder blade. Shouldn't they provide a basic definition of curvature on the robot? Guess that's what was bothering me. But none theless, excellent work. The more recent attempt does look better.. but to me I guess the lights look a bit cartoonish. Anyone else get the same effect?
