Hi there people,
first, I must ask anyone who is offended by this image to please email me so I can remove it. I am not sure if depictions of nudity are OK on the forum.....when you draw life models from time to time, you tend to lose perspective on these things!
It's more "Shiny vehicles" stuff - what is it that makes a combination of women and fast bikes/cars/etc such an alluring one???
I call this piece "Tail End". Enjoy, crit or flame as you see fit.
PS: Yes, I cheated - that sky comes from a photo!
Cheers, A. |

Umm its very comic book-esque....
dunno why it has to be nude... but it is a very good drawing.

i could be wrong but the perspective looks a bit awkward, mainly for the back lights of the bike and the stuff around them.

Are all you people hi..that is fucking awsome !!! Wow man you do good work that is for sure..and yes faust you are wrong the perspective is fine. Hey man dont worry about nudes here if the kids get offended they can pack there bags and get the fuck out...this is very very cool man you did a great job with that metal on the bike..please post more...nude or not..!!!!
Ohh one thing...the right side if the tail light...the top line is not even with the left side and it is make it look crooked...hmm not such an easy fix but give it a shot!!
Ohh and about the sky no one would have known it was a fake ..should have kept that to yourself

Dam!!! Very sleek and sexy. Metal has a nice feel to it. Nice skin tones also. Some of the line work looks a little rough, but I don't mind it at all. Cool image

MilkMan you type as mean as you look. Seriously, look over your responses to other people in other topics lately. Now, don't get me wrong here, your a better artist than me. But you could tone down a pinch.
[waiting for the negative response.]

Wow, very nice. Not sure that she's gunna enjoy moving very fast without some protection but a nicely executed image. The reflections on the bike and the helmet are great and the upon closer inspection *raises eyebrow* the anatomy seems to be right on. I wonder how this image would look without the lines though. I think it'd look very nice, very real if you tried a version without the slightly sketchy lines.
For the record I've no problem with the nudity since you handled it tastefully and the image is well done whether the nude is in it or not. It seems to fit the 'pin-up' mood of this pic anyway
Good work, let's see some more.

just curious how most drawings are done here,

Thanks guys.
Redix - the image is drawn in "non-repro" blue pencil, then inked (in my rough style!), scanned, and then overlayed as a "multiply" layer. The blue lines are removed with a little PhotoShop magic. In the old days (!) the same magic was achieved with a photocopier. I never bother with an eraser.
Faustgfx and others: You can see you're right by looking at the crooked guide lines I used when setting up rear of the bike. Ooops! I think in future I need to spend a little more time setting up the composition and perspective before launching into ink and color.
Cheers, A.
OK, and here's another version, the very sensible armoured-suit version, for those of us who actually have bikes and can't stand the idea of someone coming off at speed and scraping away all that lovely skin.... =)

Very nice. The skin tones are great, so are the reflections. I'm sure you could make a great sky too.
And erasing the rough lines would make the picture perfect. |

oh sheeeeeezus! Very 1337
The cylindrical things on the back make it feel more "massive" but i think you should have drawn that metal grid thing behind her right foot as in the sketch.
Reflections are 1337

Hey A,
neat image. Nudity is OK on the forum ...if it's not a prOn.
I think the problem is that you trying to mix 2 styles: comics and reality. If it's just a comic illustration well everything is ok... i shut up. BUT if it supposed to be a real life pic... man you need some more pixels!
As someone mentioned before she needs some protection. Naked girls on shiny bikes looks sweet but do you see them in real life? Also lighting is a key. Primary lightsource is sun located at down-right. A few lights can be placed at bike control panel and tail. Keep this in mind and paint/render... Bike is okie but girl need some work. Just my humble opinion. ANyway keep posting.
Btw, why not to use a standart grey pencil? It can be easy erased.

Wow A, amazing image.. I spent some time just looking at the reflection of the sky on the bike it self.. really good job.. Some people say that real life and comic books don't mix.. I don't think thats true.. I love the combonation of both.. my favorite artist has that style. Travis Charest, check out a cool site with his artwork..

Keep up the great work.. |

I'am not against any nudity or such.
But i really like the stretch-suited version much more. I really love the way this suite followes the skin and bends and so..
Hmm could i be a fettischist in denialphase ??? :-)

I like the picture, although i would rather see it without the black line work maybe just blend the line work into the skin or something...

i agree with afex...maybe a little more "softening" of the line work...very awesome! reminds me a bit of Simon Beasley work on the Heavy Metal books.
Too bad she's not on an R1, the baddest bike to grace my garage

Images wouldn't load for me and I couldn't access your homepage either.
Please tell me they aren't gone. I only got a glimpse of your pic at work but had to back-button out pretty quick since looking at nudity in any form is a big no-go for a government employee. |

Thanks for the e-mail Alun, the images show up now. Your server may have been having problems earlier, I suppose. Either way, I love your style and look forward to seeing more of your work. |

Oh dear - I suppose she's fighting for the rights of motorcycles ?
Great work. I like both versions - though the stretch suited version is a little more peasing to the eye. |
