Just bought icewind dale TOday . wow im impressed with it. good job on the art. I expected it to be a cheesy imitation of Baldurs gate but i was wrong =) The main reason i thought of it that way was because i was looking at the boxe and the graphics at the back and they looked bulky and crappy BUT very mch different when you play. The snow and the textures and the water in the caverns look sooo real. ( still at the beginning of the game).
Just a few questions if you ever do read this post and if you can answer them.
first was this game in a hurry and on a tight schedule? alot of the writting has ALOT of mistakes.
and second theirs one thing i dont get how come you can delete and create characters when you want. Not that i am complaining but its just weird i keep one good character than i take 6 and throw them to their deaths and do it over and over until i kill whatever needs to be kill without killing my one good character. Also i have notice that everytime i start a new char i get more money so right now i am rich.
IN ALL its a KICK ASSS GAME love it. will have many hours play fun with it. Keep up the good art.

hi
thanks for the compliments...and the criticisms....the writing question I dont have an answer for...I did the portraits and some of the concepts for it...but the writing was done by our design team and those questions can be answered best on the icewind dale message boards.
The deletion and creation of characters option allows you to change your party as you see fit...there is plenty of experience to be had so early in the game you can change your party around etc...
we did do the entire game in about a year and four months....all of it. And while I would have loved to polish it..including the portraits...time did not allow for perfection. All companies deal with production schedules. Given the amount of time we had, no one really expected much out of Icewind as most games are at least 18 months to two years in development. Some...no names mentioned...take as long as 4 years or more. We did everything we could to make a quality game within the time we had. We worked 70-80 hour weeks and gave our own time to the project as we really believed in the title and in the history of fans that icewind brings. Have fun adventuring.
