I guess I should tell you guys little bit about myself... I used to be an artist.
I'll try to make this short so reading it will go by real quick. Plus I just got back from a dance club, so my grammar is not the greatest right now, so bear with me.
About 4 years ago I graduated with a degree in 3D animation, of course I was excited, and thought for sure that I would land a job somewhere doing 3D here in Denver. About 2 years of unemployement went by, and I was still living off of my parents. By this point I was pretty frustrated, and finally went to my backup plan. I sent about a dozen or so resumes to various IT (Computer Geek) positions. I figured, since I couldn't survive on something I love, at least I'll survive on something I like. I put my art, my love (at the time) on a far, out of reach, backburner. So, my current career (bread and butter) is now implementing and managing company networks, and to be honest its purty kewl.
Right about when I was on my way out at my last job (September), I didn't like sitting on my ass, I started looking at artists on the web. Unfortunately, the only site I could remember was www.sijun.com. Of course, I started reading the forum.
Once I was fairly comfortable again, I wiped the dust off my anatomy and figure drawing books, and re-learned 2 years of memory loss. Oh, and bought a new computer to handle the applications that I will be using. It was really weird sketching again.
Anyways, since I seem to taking up space on the BB, the least I can do is contribute something. This is my first serious attempt at art again for 2 years (minus a couple of weeks of sketching).
First the blueline:
Then I pencilled in the blue, scanned it in, and cleaned it up a little:
When my new monitor comes in, I'll start the coloring. I'm using an older monitor for the next couple of days, I set the color matching on the monitor that broke
Oh yea, I also race cars. Well, autocross, this summer I'll be doing track racing. The car of choice is a Subaru Impreza 2.5RS, check out http://www.impreza-rs.com/imprezer_rs.htm , its not my car, but it is a good example of what the car looks like.

Wow, for being out of the game for 2 years you seem to be doing pretty darn well. And whats wrong with network implementation anyway? I'm an engineer and I can still draw ... well sort of anyways
I like the pose you have her in, though the head *seems* to be a bit too large. Maybe it's just me though. Otherwise it looks pretty good. Can't wait to see this one colored! |

this is amazing, I'd like to say the head looks perfect, along with the rest of it. Fix the hands, make a spaceshippy background, and it's absolutely perfect.

Looks good. Cool cartoon style.
I think she's screaming for you to add her feet.It looks pretty unfinished without them.
You could maybe work more on shapes of the stomach area(looks a bit flat compared to the rest)
Welcome, Will!

I like the drawing but something about the mout/nose area looks wrong. The haping doesn't look right for that type of model. |

Hiyya,
Can't see the images, the links appear to be broken.
But I can comment on your frustration with trying to be an artist, in the face of reality. I've been drawing since I was born , I loved being an artist. But when it came time to go to college, I "knew" I couldn't do this for a living ... too much starvation and hard work
So I chose the next best thing: engineering. I am currently the sole webmaster in my company, which means I get to do everything: graphics, layout, code, play with all the coolest toys, you get the picture (woohoo!)
Along the way I found out that I'm a bit of both: an artist and an engineer. Somehow they work together as one; without either, I am just another ordinary mortal(doh!)
Anywho, nearly a decade after giving any hopes of doing anymore artwork, I found the forum, lurked for a while, and finally decided to reignite my old passion for art.
I have a long way to go until I get good, but hey, it's taken me 10 years to get here, I can wait a few more
Okay, I'll be quiet now. Peace!
p.s.Doh! Now I see the images. Nice proportions on the lady.
She must work out
