well i started last night around 12 and ended at 4 in the mornin'
but i think for a first time self portrait, its pretty decent.
its from a photo of me in a car
i just painted from reference
no actual photo was scanned.
-i hope i'm getting the hang of this photoshop
painting style down.
what ya think?

we if we were to see what the original pic looked like it we might give some better crit.
anyway your lighting is really nice.. I like what you've done with the hard light behind and the softer glow in front.
the facial features could use a little work but I cant really comment on that cuz I dont know what oyu look like. I think right around the nostrils and behind the nose.
really nice first self port though.... good job!!

Good - you do seem to be developing a nice style here. Like particularly the reflection in the right lense.
Interesting way you handled the back lighting - on the hair and ear, looks pretty effective.

Very nice, Jim. I like the glow of the ear due to the light. Very nice indeed.
