The hair? Heh, probably just for the fact that it's different and not mainstream. =)
Would it look as good with brunette hair? Personally I don't think so.

if you ask me, art-wise the neon hair seems more mainstream than non. I've seen way too much manga/anime stuff lately to enjoy it. Your image though looks great, and the reason the neon hair in this particular image didn't bother me is because there's light either eminating from it or causing it which is on her skin. that looks neat cuz its so damn bright.

I used to have hair similar to that, a bit more red tone in it though, very cool

I realise its cartoonish, and not going for proper proportions, but i think something about the mouth/jaw/jips looks a bit wrong, bit too far forward or something. Excelent hair though, reminds me of the hair from all the new PS2 games
