Here is the second page of his 3 page story. Kinda bugs me because I think I've learned some better techniques but I tried to stay with the same consistancy as the splash page.
Here is the black uniform version: http://www.geocities.com/chapel_t9/colors/madbatsp2b.jpg

Looks good chapel. I think it might be better if you darkened all the pictures a bit and use the moon as the source of lighting. Might give more of a night stealthy look to it where they are roaming free. Anyway, the first ccell I really can't tell what's happening thre. It seems...... that batman does a flip? Took me a while to get that. Might want to try to indicated the direction of his path a bit more. |

You do realize I didn't draw the linework right? The penciler (Joe Madureira) wanted a motion blur on the first figure in that panel. |

Heh.. guess everyone is sick of my stuff. Oh well, I went back and made some corrections to the pics. I won't point them out since nobody probably noticed the first time. |

There is a MegaCon in Orlando in March. I'm going to take my portfolio. I'd really like to find a job before then though. I'll have the last page of this story done sometime in the next couple of days. Then I have to find some more sequentials to color. I'm pretty happy with my progress.. I colored this page in about the same amount of time I colored Vortx's pic a couple months ago. |

Your texturing is getting really cool.
I don't like how Superman's face is in shadow in the final panel. You have a secondary light source from below on the middle panel, but then that light dissappears for all others. I think that that light should appear in the other panels too. Especially the last one, which is flat, and too dark.
Also in the middle panel, the lightblue highlight on Superman's right shoulder(his right) seems too all inclusive. I think it should be more of a rim light. The moon is behind, not above.
And I might lighten the characters to bring then out of the background a bit. I think you wanted the "hunt in shadows" thing, but we have to be able to see them clearly.
I'm also not a fan of the blur. Did you try any other blur effects. Less dilation, more streaks...

There is a reason I did the last panel in shadow like that. Joe for some reason can't decide on lightsources. So, if you notice in the middle panel Joe created an lightsource coming from the city. Then in the second to last panel Batmans upper body is almost a siloute. I figured both characters would have had to have taken a step back.. which would take out the light from below. Plus, in this story he is brooding over things. Sometimes you change the panels to convey the emotion.
The reason the motion blur doesn't work right is because there should atleast be one more batman pose inbetween the two. He is going from one extreme to another. Joe wanted a motion blur though, so I tried.
I like the lighting on the shoulder.. it was kind of a mistake, but I kept it cause I feel it adds a little more balance to the panel.

It's awesome, if you want my input on the motion blur I think you should leave it, but also make the colors lighter than on the actual Batman so it doesn't look like there is to of them but one is the blur of the other, I don't know if you understand what I'm saying. |

Hey Chapel, look'n good
Only thing that really bothered me was the last cell of the closeup of Superman's face, the shadowing seems a bit off for the light source, seems a bit to gradiated ( that a word? ) and doesn't pay attention to the curves of his face enough.
So when do we get to see page 3?
