Thanks for the kind words.
burnout, our production sked is 4 weeks from beginning to end with about 2 weeks for revisions. That includes everything from storyboards, layout, animation, backgrounds, Flash, and sound. It's a LOT of work, especially for a crew our size.
Any other feedback?

I love that guy's accent. I wish I sounded like that I'd go ask everyone for a rubel. I am watching it right now so I'll comment as it goes along.
whoa. they're doing it. hehe she's like oh hey change your religion by the way.
wow gross. haha that guy's got a stick through his eye. apparently I wasn't paying enough attention because he looks mad that people are on sticks. I thought he'd be happy about that.
hehe keep up the neat work! Love those BGs too.

Hey guys
Great as usual!!! However, since you are asking for feedback, I would love to give some. I really like the way the eyes are used to add emphasis to an integral part of the storyline. Eyes provide us with the necessary information that helps us indentify the characters as being real, and the way the pacing and blocking of the animation was done was an excellent way of focusing on that particular aspect. The transitions from Vlad's eyes to the impaled soldier's, seeing the close-ups of the characters, stuff like that enabled (at least IMO) a nice foreshadowing of things to come. The anim is not action packed, obviously, but the minimal set-ups and design lead me to believe we're in store for interesting conclusions.
I may be off base on my assumptions, but that is what I take away from what I have seen.
My critique would be in the, let's say technical aesthetics. Referring to what I said about the eyes playing an important role. I myself realize the constraints on working under the umbrella of Flash capabilities, so this is definitely being very picky, but. I would try to make the eyes even more expressive, and concentrate on the actual drawing of them. An example of what I am referring to: when the Kings sister is caressing Vlad's chest, I am bothered by the eye which is farther from us, her left eye. It doesn't seem to compliment the curvature of her face. This, like I said is being very anal, but to support what I have said, if the eyes were paid attention to with a special understanding viewers who aren't as anal as myself (which is probably the rest of the free world) would be fooled into accepting the reality. The same goes for any scene where the eyes are the central focus. Maybe add a bit of animation/expression to them to pull the viewer in. That is the one beauty of animation, as well as static art, and that's allowing the viewer to think about what they are viewing. Let them feel," what is he thinking", "what is going to happen," "Man, I don't know but he kind of looks pissed." "Romainia is in trouble" etc.
Synj picked up on my point by mentioning that he looked pissed after seeing the soldiers impaled. It's that kind of viewer leading that I think would make your animations stand out, especially when you have ones such as part 2 where there is a limited amount of action. And for the web viewing community, where there are alot of younger viewers, sad to say, without action, they may lose interest. So when you show some emphasis on the acting of your characters, you will provide the viewer with the ability to think while watching. Which I feel has been lacking lately with features , both animated and live action. So why not try to take a story that isn't new and bring it to a new level through the acting content.
Dreamworks "Prince of Egypt" would be a good example of this. The story again, nothing we haven't heard before, but scenes like Moses encountering the Burning Bush for the first time, is inspiring to watch. The emotions that are evoked by the few subtle changes of eye dimension, or direction, make me want to watch the scene over and over again.
Not that I'm saying Dreamworks is nearly up to your quality but, I think if you concentrate on those points you'll be unstoppable
Take these crits as advice from someone who should not be critting I think what you did is very good, without a doubt. I merely made the recommendations to possibly turn on a light on in your thinking game. I know that being closely attached to a project, it's hard to account for everything
later
Joel, did you receive my last mail

Thnks for the critique, Gen. I totally agree about the expressiveness. I'm glad that we at least portrayed the foreshadowing of what's to come. There was less action in this one than the first; it's kind of like our Empire Strikes Back of the mini-series. The next episode starts with some pretty good stuff, major ass-kicking.
A lot of the expression limitations are more due to time contrainsts than Flash. We should be putting in much more attention to those kinds of details and there's no good excuse for not having it in there.
Thanks a lot. It's very helpful.
