I like them both a lot! This is the type of work that I like to see, I do some of this kinda stuff myself.. very cool.

If I had to pick, I guess I would pick split. However, I think both images have too much unused potential and could use some tweaking. While the center of Rob's piece is probably the most intesting part of both images, the lack of anything really intriguing in the huge black areas to each side of the center image is a shame. I like the upper left and lower right corners of Split's image, but the rest of it is too low-res and under-utilized.

But overall, both images get a thumbs up from me. I'd personally like to see more of this type of thing on this forum.
