looks nice Kim ! Are you doing these for your new game consept ? I guess they aren't for a new globetrotter
Btw, two comments, 1. with the linework. Maybe it could make them look a bit more technically interessting if you had a bit more hard edges. And, details within details, that I mean when you do small holes and such, you draw perpective into it. 2.the marker rendering on top, if you choose certain areas to not follow the same kind of darkness. I mean, if you pick out certain areas on let's say the gun and make it almost black in it material, and maybe more shiny, and do the same type of changes in other areas as well, to break up the overall shading a bit. I think that could look very cool.
Just some suggestions...But, it looks nice
See you at the julefrokost tomorrow, hope you guys aren't drunk when we arrive

Very nice Kimzoll, I like... Nice style. Post more of your creatures, it would have been fun to see how you do different textures. Both organic and non-organic stuff.

Whats the deal, you seem to be turning out a new page every day or two....I have no problem with this, I mean there very good.
Apart from the individual concepts I really like the page layout......have you been a design student?.
Looking forward to seeing more! |

Your style is growing on me, kimzoll. I really dig it. The only suggestion I'd make is pretty much the same as what Joachim suggested which is to break up things with different textures. It'll help if you've got areas of contrast in not only color value but in surface quality as well. I've noticed that this helps a lot in making interesting game textures so I try to do the same with my artwork. Add some rough texture here and there and some dimension to your details and you'll have a good thing going, me thinks =)
Keep 'em coming!

hi,
great pics... is this characters to be used in a computer game ? or at least in a comic ?
i also like the last pic, that groups different views of the buddy. it reminds me somehow of the pictures from id-software showing the characters of quake3.
greetings
peter
