Welcome to the forum! I like your pic, the character is very cool but it looks like only the head is finished so far. I think you are using photoshop and so think you should use the {{dodge and burn}} airbrush to finish the front legs and rear, just to give them some definition, add more shadow to the strap and put in the other two legs as well [front and back right side] and have them just slightly reviled, it looks a little off right now. The tail is the thing that really lets you down though, it looks too small {{sug: but one of those big ball spike things on}} and unbalances the creature. What may also help when doing dido pic like this, just as a guide, is to put a gradient background {{d.green lower to l.green upper}} it helps to give the image depth. I really like the head though!

And i like those type of soft colors! I thought his tail looked weird, but then - it's a made up dino so he can have any tail you want hehe. It'd be sweet if you told us how exactly you added colors to this pic? I always wanted to try first painting Grayscale and then coloring, but it doesnt work :(

ok, you begin painting it greyscaled.
then when you finished it, you take the paintbrush or airbrush, then take color and set the opacity to 100%. then you color your image in the colors you want.
after youve done that you go to color balance(ctrl+b) and make the light warm(red or a warm tone) and the shadow cold(blue for example) or the other way around.
thats the problem i have with painting in colors, i cant get this warm - cold balance right.
check impressionistic pictures, most of those artists made that amazingly good. |

i think its wonderful
one little thing that bother me tho, is that the saddle is the same color as the horn type things on the dino's head. it kinda makes u think the saddle is another bone structure on the dino and not a saddle.
good job!
