hehe... and Rinaldo thought I used too many layers. I don't like giving crits on color attempts, because I'm learning myself. But I will say I think you should have changed the colors up to show more of a difference between the uniform and everything else. |

Get rid of that drop shadow behind her....makes it look 2d. But anyway.. I think the red on the gun is a bit too bright... it just comes outta nowhere... at first I thought it was her hair getting tangled in the gun. Anyway, Nice skintones and like how you texture din some stuff. |

@eviltoylet: umm... actually the red on the gun are wires and I (personally) think they have nice highlights and shading. But the whole gun toghether is a bit bright tho, too much contrast to the girl... somehow.
@dryfire: That's exactly what I'm doing, first I make a new layer for the colors, then a new one for the shadowns after that the special highlights and if needed text effects or something like that, but I make it for each part in an extra layer group e.g. the skin the boots the weapon and so on it has it's own layers with shading and stuff.

Why did you have to use 67 layers? |

it's very nice .... but it looks too 2d ... you should have tried some color doging and burning on the lights and shadows .... and you should try to smudge and blur (just a little bit) the streches of the clothes ... this makes the shadows more obvious
it's really nice anyway ..

sorry i don t see any interest in using the highest number of layers ... (moreover you don t use any mask on yours) ; seems you are proud of this ... At the opposite, i think using only one layer when painting digitally is a mark of high skills. In traditional media you don t have such tools .. |

@[s]layer: Ya, you're right but remember that this is only my second try, so I'm still trying out how to make it look better and more 3Dish.
@toast!: I just use that many layers because it's easier for me to change things after it's basically finished. I mean if I made a little mistake there I would need to redo a whole section so I just need to redo a little part of it and since I'm not very skilled yet I sometimes make mistakes that I need to fix. And I'm not proud of using many layers, like I said it's just easier for me and I think as my skills will increase I won't need that much layers. Just posted a list of the layers since some of you wondered where they come from so I wanted to show you why I have so many.

Well it is realyl nice but very green and i mean green as the color green
And i think you should really cut down on the layers 20 should be more than enough in my oppinion but then again i suck at coloring since im just starting. Just use the rubber if you make a mistake man. |

looks pretty cool, some of the shinyness could go tho. Like think of different materials, metal boots may be more shinier and reflective, less in the cloth, etc etc and try show more variety with it. i like the choice of armyish colours you used. why the frakk 67 layers man?? dunno how u can use so much.
