Nice pic Jen.. all the little pollen like squigilly things give the impression of a breeze.. and it makes me want to sneeze. I'm probably allergic to it.. it seems I'm either allergic to things colored green, nature, or just chlorophyll.. :-p

Hi, this is my first post ever on this board, I hope you don't mind =)

The plant looks very lifelike, nicely done! The only comment I have is that the sky is a bit dark, it looks almost like the plant is under water.. other than that, it's great.

Looks good. Just kinda wierd with haveing a plant all alone by itself Anyway... for the right bud, I can't figure out what it's connected to. Maybe change the angle on that one? Anyway.. Really like it Doesn't really look like it goes into the ground thoug.....

Hurro, Thanks for the replies. I was thinking about putting a fish tank behind it thats why its kinda dark. But I felt sleepy.

Air plants dont have big roots. And it is stuck on a piece of wood..

Maybe I will try find some pictures of real ones for you

a bit of a different style here. giving painting a try as opposed to linework?

i really like airplants (we have a bunch at my work) but a lot of people have never seen them before. they'd probably have a better idea if you worked on showing how the plant attaches to a piece of wood. (or whatever)

are you planning to tighten this up?

Hey Jenn

I hate to be criticale but you have a few things to work with this one. The form is weak for one in the plant. I am not sure what you are going for in the plant. Really scetchy? I would also tighten up on the perspective work on the color composition. I think you have the talent to go far with your work just start with the basics and work from there.

It's nice to see in all the robots, muscle men/women and other character driven images someone taking a bit of a step back to do a plant. I like the style in the image although there is a couple of 'composition' ideas that I find detract from the image a little:

1) the 'horizon' is curved. Curving the horizon can work either way and I'm not sure that it has in this image. The way that it curves tricks the eye a little into thinking that the plant is out of proportion and/or has a funny shape.

2) The ground right underneath/in front of the plant doesn't look finished. You have this wonderful plant and a solid colour background yet this are right under the plant looks bare and as if someone just touched upon it lightly at some stage. With the richness of the colours that you've used elsewhere, one would expected the ground to be dark or well lite.

Again a really nice image and I like the style that you are playing around with.
