i think the way the countours of whatever it is looks like stock quotes or something, the way the follow the face looks good. only thing i would suggest is that the wires in the first one dont look as finished as the rest, they need some green to.

Like both of em. The contours on the face has been pointed out already though. Hehe. Anyway, I think that you should get rid of those cheesy text effects. They just look like shit, not cool as one would assume. Just simply righ tin the gray area Gabe Reiser. in white without anyeffects. as for the virst one. Loose the blur. Try to match the rest of the backgorund more. As in....maybe make the text greenish LCD.

lol

The composition is neat, I guess. Nifty concept.

Not much done by hand from the looks of it, which is what this forum is about.

We try to stay away from filters.

honestly? i've seen the same art done far better a million times over.

maybe if you stopped stealing styles and ideas, and focused on the BASICS of illustration and design, you'd have a chance.

//no offense, but you deserve whatever hate-mail you get. or did you forget why you get it?

//2 my apologies about the harshness of this note, but if you're going to be good, you need someone to be brutally honest with you. and while i do applaud your tenacity, you have a very tall hill to climb, which was only added to when you dug yourself a hole.

i repeat. you must learn the basics before you can even attempt to emulate any sort of style. that's like painting a house that has no foundation. the only thing you'll recieve is frustation and anxiety.

Damn. Personally, I think people who spend the time to write posts like that degredate the board a lot more than rehashed filter work does. No offense? That seemed pretty offensive.

i don't think honesty could possibly hurt this forum in any way. he asked for critiques. i gave him one. he doesn't need to follow it if he doesn't want to.

sorry if my need to be honest overrides my tact. that's something *i* need to work on for myself.

I think the second image is by far the strongest of the 2.

as for the first one, i only say this because i have seen the radial blur filer at zoom too many times. One thing you can do to make the clouds filter seem less filter like is to duplicate the layer about 3 or 4 times. on the first copy, gaus blur it heavily. on the second motion blur it heavily, and on the fourth shapren it. fiddle with the layer modes (mulitply, etc) and you can turn the bland filter -ish look of the clouds. also if you fiddle with the levels (on a duplicate layer of the flattened 4) you can get some interesting results.

- i just tried making that filter not look so "cloud like" and it was real hard. it is real hard to get that to look right.

oh well, good luck to ya. hope my comments were helpful.

ok, those weren't very good I know, I havn't got good wall paper design skills, i know this! As far as illustration is concerned, I think I got a little skill there.

Here is an example:

That is something that I drew while sitting here waiting for more critiques. Not much but I drew it in about 10 min. really

It doesnt really matter how its done so long as it looks good, is made truthfully, and suites the purpose.

These are all pretty nice. The second image would look better if the grey tiles were make to look more 3d.
